Exercise and WellnessYoga with Ease
Learn ways to relieve stress and live in the moment. Develop a personal practice using Yoga poses (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranavama). All levels of fitness are welcome. Bring a yoga mat and/or blanket to class and wear comfortable clothing.
Participants please register in advance at the Brookfield Recreation, 8820 Brookfield Avenue. If signing up for pass on Saturday morning, please arrive a tleast 10 minutes prior to class start. No program on April 28 and May 19.

Hatha Yoga with Nancy Desert Lizard Heraty
Yoga allow you to become comfortable in your body, improving strength, flexibility and balance. Tone your body and soul while you learn to breathe and relax. Participants need to bring a yoga sticky mat and wear comfortable form fitting clothes. Blocks and straps supplied.

This class will increase your cardiovascular endurance and your range of motion. The first half of class will be a warm up, then a cardio workout, followed by a cool down. It meets twice a week at Argo High School pool and runs for a solid hour and thirty minutes. Please bring a towel, bathing suit, and water shoes to class.

Walking Track at Argo High School
Don’t let the cold weather stop you from getting out and walking. The Summit Park District in conjunction with Argo High School has made the indoor track in the high school field house available for walkers. This opportunity is only available to Summit residents at no cost. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. when school is in session. Ask your friends to accompany you and get a little socialization along with exercise. Participants are required to obtain a photo I D card from the Summit Park District for admittance into the high school field house. The I D cards are available during park district office hours Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Please note the track is unavailable on January 13, and 16. February 13, 17 and 23. March 5, April 6 – 13.
(The walking track will be open according to the High School’s schedule, if the high school is closed for the holiday so will the walking track).
Walking track session begins on January 9 and will end on May 18
Wellness Center at Argo High School
Join the Wellness Center at Argo High School for a good cardio workout. Get the chance to use the bicycles, treadmills, and spin cycles, along with other equipment. Basic instruction on the usage of the equipment will be provided but the facility will not be staffed with professional trainers. The Summit Park District and School District 217 assume no responsibility for any person’s use of equipment.
Users will need to register using the Summit Park District’s registration form found on the back of the brochure. There will be a park district staff on-site during the center’s open hours. You will be required to have an ID card and the Park District Wellness Center will be made for you and dropped off at the center. Participants should enter the facility through the entrance located on the east side of the school. Please register through Summit Park District.
