Children's Programs
The Summit Park District will be continuing a series of classes in English and in Spanish for the summer, designed to assist parents in introducing their infant (9 months-2 years old) or tot (2-4 years old) to the water.
The SUM-FUN Splash Park located in Summit Park, 5700 S. Archer Road, is the perfect place to introduce children to the fun of water because it has a zero-depth entry and a maximum depth of 18 inches. In all programs infants must wear plastic pants or water diapers in the water. Parents may wear a bathing suit or shorts in the water. . It is recommended that both the parent and child have adequate sun protection during the classes.
The classes will be dependent on the weather and will only be held if the temperature is 74° or higher and there is no immediate threat of rain. Every attempt will be made to reschedule missed classes the week after the class is scheduled to end. All questions about whether the class will be held on a particular day please call the Sum-Fun Splash Park at 496-0798.

Boxing
Argo-Summit Boxing Club
Welcome to the most exciting sports experience you’ve ever
encountered! Boxing is the combination of athleticism, physical and
mental conditioning, sportsmanship, and self-worth that is unequalled
in any other sport.
Boxing, properly coached and supervised, can be an extremely fulfilling
and a valuable experience for today’s youth. It can be used as a
vehicle to develop a positive release of frustrations and energy, as
well as building self-confidence and character.
Amateur boxing provides an excellent means of conditioning for
the high school athlete during the off season. It is the ideal sport
for youngsters who are not involved in a school sports program or
aren’t attracted to team sports.
Is boxing safe? Amateur boxing ranks 71st among amateur sports
for injuries; wrestling, diving, gymnastics, and even badminton are
ranked above it. Amateur boxing is possibly the most regulated and
supervised sport of any amateur competition All boxers are required to
wear protective equipment including gloves, headgear, mouthpieces,
groin protectors, and in the event of a female bout, chest protectors.
A list of equipment will be provided to each participant. All coaches
and trainers are instructed and certified through the USA Boxing
USA Boxing is the national governing body of amateur, Olympic-style
boxing, and is the United States' member organization of the
International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA). As a national
governing body recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, USA
