Cardio kick Plus

Interested in learning kickboxing? Well now you can with our CardioKick Plus class. In this class you will learn the fundamentals of stances, punches, blocking, and kicking. This awesome workout combines aerobics, cardiovascular training and body toning to shape those muscles. Taking this class will help increase your body’s metabolism and help tone your body! Swimercise

This class will increase your cardiovascular endurance and your range of motion. The first half of class will be a warm up, then a cardio workout, followed by a cool down. It meets twice a week at Argo High School pool and runs for a solid hour and thirty minutes. Please bring a towel, bathing suit, and water shoes to class.

Yoga Fitness

Fitness yoga tightens and tones the entire body, enhances flexibility and builds core strength by combining fitness training focused breathing and strength building through yoga poses, utilizing the standard class of warn-up, work and cool-down stages. UFLACKER ACADEMY
BRAZILIAN  JIU JITSU

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art focused on ground fighting techniques. This style allows you to overcome, take down and control an opponent even if they have a size advantage on you. It is based on leverage and a series of techniques involving takedowns, escapes and ground defense.

Our instructor, Professor Christian Uflacker, is from Rio De Janerior, Brazil. He  is back black belt who trained under Master Carlos Gracie Jr. for 15 years and competed in various tournaments, attaining such  titles as World Champion, European Champion, Brazilian National  Champion, and U.S. National Champion, just to name a few.

As a student, you will receive authentic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Training.  We are a very friendly school with students of all ages and levels!  Whether you’re interested in learning a martial arts, competitor, this is the school for you!!!

Walking Track at Argo High School
Don’t let the cold weather stop you from getting out and walking. The Summit Park District in conjunction with Argo High School has made the indoor track in the high school field house available for walkers.
This opportunity is only available to Summit residents on Mondays-Fridays from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. when school is in session. Ask your friends to accompany you and get a little socialization along with exercise.
Participants are required to obtain a photo I D card from the Summit Park District for admittance into the high school field house. The I D cards are available during park district office hours Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Wellness Center at Argo High School
Join the Wellness Center at Argo High School for a good cardio workout. Get the chance to use the bicycles, treadmills, and spin cycles, along with other equipment. Basic instruction on the usage of the equipment will be provided but the facility will not be staffed with professional trainers. The Summit Park District and School District 117 assume no responsibility for any person’s use of equipment.

Users will need to register using the Summit Park District’s registration form found on the back of the brochure. There will be a park district staff on-site during the center’s open hours. You will be required to have an ID card and the Park District Wellness Center will be made for you and dropped off at the center. Participants should enter the facility through the entrance located on the east side of the school. Please register through Summit Park District.

Tae Kwon Do

An introductory class will be offered in Tae Kwon Do  by Mr. Herrera the instructor for the program is a certified Tae Kwon Do instructor. Tae Kwon Do is one of the newest sports to become an Olympic event. The program will help you get into shape and learn how to protect yourself. Tae Kwon Do’s philosophy is based on five tenets; courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. These traits are essential to developing the proper attitude towards learning the art and also respecting instructors and fellow students.

The program, for girls and boys, is based on a 3 month semester where, at the end, each student will submit to a testing of their skills in order to achieve a belt. This test will cost an additional $55.00 and is required if the student wishes to progress to the next level. Instruction for students who have achieved the yellow belt and are continuing on to the next level will begin to include physical contact. Students will be required to wear body protection.
